Perhaps I couldn't be an engineer without feedback and optimization of behavior. I hope it will be of benefit to someone who has read this article and is in the same situation as me!
Gender man Age 32 years old Previous job Crane operator Half a year of programming experience (3 months for self-study, 3 months for study abroad)
I came back from studying abroad and started job hunting in this state.
And at this time, there is a lot of demand for engineers, so I should get used to engineers even in my thirties! Isn't it so difficult to get a job?
I thought about this. Lol Needless to say, I was so impatient that I would die after that.
I mainly used Mynavi job change to change jobs.
The reason is
・ What was introduced at the study abroad destination ・ There is a web resume
For this reason, I chose Mynavi to change jobs.
I also wanted to hear about Wantedly and participated in a company information session. I went to the job placement office and applied for a job.
As expected, if I applied for more than 10 companies and did not even receive the document screening, I was impatient!
It is a repetition of application, document screening, and being dropped. Some companies don't even reply! Crying
I managed to do my best with the encouragement of my family and lover. Even if I thank you, I can't finish it.
However, I am not worried about my skills. I did my best to support this heart while studying abroad! I am confident.
A person who had never studied seriously did his best even though it was three months. There are also deliverables that are worth it.
So if an inexperienced person gets a job offer, he should definitely get a job offer! !! I was able to keep feeling strongly.
This is thanks to the people I met during my study abroad period!
I didn't ask the company that was dropped, but I analyzed it myself.
Reasons to be dropped in documents
・ Only age is seen ・ Apply for companies with concentrated applications ・ The field of view is narrow
As a result of my own analysis, I thought of something like this.
This is disappointing, but I wonder if many Japanese companies today have this kind of trend.
I participated in a company information session on the Web, and this company held company information sessions twice a week. And I heard that each time I explain things like the company's vision and management philosophy to about eight people.
Companies that are active in job hunting in this way should be concentrating on applications. Therefore, I got the impression that many rivals are sifting, no matter how inexperienced they are welcomed.
I mainly applied for jobs in Ogura and Hakata because my parents' house was close to Kitakyushu and I learned that the demand for near shores was increasing in Fukuoka during my study abroad period. However, in the first place, the number of companies was small and the number of job offers was too small compared to the job offers nationwide.
As expected, I thought that it would be useless as it is, so I reviewed my behavior.
And I actually did something like this.
・ Do not select companies carefully (apply if you think 2) ・ Create self-presentation slides (to make sure you get a job offer at the interview) ・ Leave the rest to God! Lol
That's about it. However, I may have given up my job as an engineer because I still couldn't get a job offer.
I knew that when I made my resume, I needed to be someone who matched the company's vision, so when I sent my resume, I always scrutinized the company's information before sending the documents.
But in the end, can we do that for companies that don't even pass the document screening? I changed my mind.
I changed my behavior like this.
As a result, I wasn't in Fukuoka prefecture, where I wanted to work, but I was able to get a job offer in Aichi prefecture, where I used to live. If you report the report to your colleagues and boss who was working on it before, let's drink again! I was told.
You don't know what life is like.
I used the Google slides I learned while studying abroad. The reason I made it was because I was overwhelmingly confident in my skills and self-presentation ability.
Besides, I learned a lot from studying abroad, but I couldn't make use of it because it was itchy. If you just send the documents normally, you will only see the documents ... Furthermore, if you share Google Slides and send the URL, it may be seen in the document screening.
And this confidence is that I learned what I learned while studying abroad, gave presentations many times, and learned how to make presentations that move people's feelings by seeing other people's presentations. It has an effect.
And if I didn't even pass the document screening in the first place, I thought that I had to do my best not to miss the company that interviewed me.
Slide composition
·Self-introduction ・ Why do you want to be an engineer? ・ Reason for studying abroad ・ What did you learn ・ My vision for the future
I made this kind of content with a total of about 34 slides. And this slide was presented in the form of screen sharing to the president who actually had a web interview.
Moreover, it was my first interview to use this method, but I got a job offer during the interview. This is thanks to the president of the company who made the offer. Moreover, since it was a prompt decision, I also like people who are determined like this. That's why I haven't worked yet, but I'm studying every day because I want to stand up as soon as possible.
This means that you can apply at your own will, but others will decide the offer.
So, in the worst case, if I could be an engineer, I would leave the place to work to God and I would do my best to be an engineer anyway. And I thought it would be interesting to know the city to which the offer was made.
As a result, I was able to broaden the range of places I wanted to work, and although it was not the language I was hoping for, I was fortunate enough to get a job offer from a company that uses Python, a language I wanted to study in the future. I think it is.
It's a pity that I'm just leaving my family and friends who live nearby ...
However, it is said that the company is also considering remote work in the future, so the rest is to first acquire the skills as an engineer and then wait and see what will happen.
Only God knows that.
My battle history
・ Apply for 15 to 20 companies ・ One interview ・ One informal company
It became like this. Is my age a yearly result?
But couldn't I be an engineer forever without optimizing my behavior? I think that.
It's hard to get a job!
Even more so, I quit my job and started job hunting after studying abroad, so I was finally relieved.
You've done everything you can really do. More than 800 characters are commonplace for web resumes, such as motivation and self-appeal. I have posted industrial qualifications that are not related to qualifications.
However, the president of the job offer was interested in cranes and gave me a good look at my career. What a blessing!
I think everyone knows that there is a risk of job hunting in their 30s. However, I think it depends on how you show it and on the recipient whether it actually becomes a risk or a plus. I hope it can be of some benefit to those who read this article.
Thank you for watching until the end. Please do your best!
