I made a plugin to generate Markdown table from csv in Vim

I had a lot of chances to write Markdown because it was a memo or work when I went to a study session recently, so I made it.

How To

• Almost written in the Readme of git
• Not in the form of a formal Vim plugin is just a preference
• Also, ʻAPI` is also included.
• It is a reflection point that introduction is troublesome

When to use

When building a new table

• For the time being, write in csv format on the editor and doToMarkdown
• Repeat the preview with ShowMarkdown and finallyToMarkdown
• Suddenly I wrote in markdown and posted it to something, but the number of|is out of sync and it doesn't become<table>! Can prevent
• You don't need vertical alignment or :-, and it may be easier to use, as the delimiter than|.
• Create csv with some spreadsheet software in advance, and then expand while converting with ʻAppendMarkdownFromFile`
• This is convenient for tables that are large to some extent
• Of course, you can also complete Vim file path tabs

When editing an existing table

• Shape a table that is not vertically aligned
• Do ToCsv and ToMarkdown to align the vertical
• Generate a csv file with WriteCsvToFile, edit it with spreadsheet software, and then perform ʻAppendMarkdownFromFile`.
• For when editing with an editor is difficult
• Of course, you can also complete directory tabs.

Command line tools

• When you want to call from the editor or tool you are using
• I don't use Vim, but when
• Set csv to markdown and write redirect to the file

Unsupported items (no plans to support)

• Conversion error occurs when the selection contains `` ```
• Conversion error occurs when the selection contains "
• When ToMarkdown is executed when the selection contains, , the number of columns of csv increases.

bonus

Draw a horizontal line with vim

r is a command that replaces only one character, but it is applied to all when range selection is done.

1. Duplicate the longest line to the line you want to draw a line

• Select a row <Shift-v> and r-
• After that, move the cursor to the place you want to make : or | and r: etc.

Draw a vertical line with vim

Characters can be written vertically by inserting from the rectangle selection

1. Select rectangle <Ctrl-v> and press ʻI` to enter insert mode

• After entering <ESC>
• Reflected in multiple lines

Erase vertically with vim

You can also delete from the rectangle selection

1. Select a rectangle <Ctrl-v>

• Delete with x or d

By the way, if you enter the insert mode with c etc. without deleting with x etc., you can edit all lines at once

in conclusion

Actually, if you know the bonus, you can do it with just Vim, but it is really convenient to master the rectangle selection. Also, it's really fun to make and post .gif
