I took the Java Silver certification exam yesterday and passed it successfully! It was harder than I expected, and when I was receiving it, I thought I had fallen lol
Since I was taken care of by various sites myself, I will introduce ** study method **, ** application method **, ** preparation for the day ** etc. as a passing experience record.
I am a 20 graduate from a liberal arts university. I work for an IT company in Tokyo.
◆ Business career April: Mainly receive training for newcomers at the Python beginner level May: Receive Java training (self-study named) in the department From June to present, in charge of testing and operation monitoring work for environmental migration / opening projects
I first came into contact with Java in May 2020. In my work, I occasionally did Java error investigations, but I learned Java almost by myself.
When I started studying in May, I didn't know anything about Java I was confused by the difference from the simplicity of Python that I learned in the training for newcomers.
For the time being, I started studying with my senior's recommended ** "Introduction to Java 3rd Edition" **.
This book and other ** "Refreshing Series" ** are really good books because they teach not only how to write programs but also how they work using easy-to-understand analogies for beginners.
By the time I finished one book at the end of June, I think I had enough knowledge to start studying Java Silver in earnest.
I started studying in earnest in ** mid-November **. The teaching material used is ** "Thorough capture Java SE 11 Slver problem collection" **, so-called ** "Kuromoto" **.
This book is composed of ** questions for each field x 11 chapters ** + ** practice exams x 2 times **. The level of the problem is a little difficult, but the explanation is polite and easy for beginners to understand. I solved the questions in each field for 4 laps (only wrong questions after the 3rd lap) and 1 mock exam.
If you have "Clear Java" level knowledge, one "Kuromoto" is enough. And in the actual exam questions, for some reason about 1 in 15 questions is exactly the same as the mock exam lol
However, it is important to note that ** there are many typographical errors **. Site "Apology and correction" has a lot of corrections. There are some typographical errors related to the correctness of the problem, so it is necessary to check each time.
For reference, if you tell me the score of the mock exam,
1st time: ** 56% ** (2 weeks before the test) Second time: ** 69% ** (1 week before the test)
It was the result. The production passed 63%.
I was quite shocked by the first score, and in a week I thoroughly confirmed what I made a mistake in the mock exam. It was a mock test that I solved after many laps of Kuromoto, but it was full of omissions of knowledge. Even though it's a paper test, you have to write the code properly and check the movement ...
I managed to reach the passing score in the second practice test, and I got 81% in the actual test.
By the way, for the last week, I was taken care of by the problem of ** Tech Prozin ** that I found by chance. I was able to study in the gap time with 5 questions each, and I was able to cover most of the fields, so it was perfect for the final confirmation.
There are many registrations and it is troublesome. The procedure is as follows.
The procedure is described in Ichiou Pearson VUE site, but it is difficult to understand, so it is good to have an image of registering according to the above procedure.
I took the exam at a local test center. Here are some things you should know before you go to the test site.
Check your valid ID and be sure to bring two types.
It's important to arrive early, but once you're in the venue, you can't study anymore. I arrived near the venue 30 minutes ago and made a final confirmation at a nearby park before entering.
Let's make up properly. I did make-up properly, but it turned out to be a ugly photo.
That's all I want to say at this point. If I remember something again, I will add it. Please comment if you have any additional information!
Thank you for reading to the end ^ ^
