Japanese input on Ubuntu20.04 Desktop
I can't enter Japanese on Ubuntu 20.04
phenomenon
- I cannot input Japanese even if I press the half-width key
- Win + Space is no good
- Should have been in Japanese when installing the OS ...
- Even though it is Japanese in Region & Language in Settings ...
- First, there is no language mark in the upper right corner of the screen

When I looked it up, the following command came out, but I want to operate it with GUI because it's a big deal.
sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration
- Language setting
- Display the application list with Show Application (□ at the bottom left of the screen)
- Search & click on Langage Support
- Install when the message that the language support download is incomplete appears
- Changed Keyboard input method system to IBus
- Log Out from the power mark at the top right of the screen
- Change settings
- After logging in again, the power mark at the top right of the screen → Settings
- Region&Language
- Plus mark of Input Sources
- Added Japanese (Mozc)
- Operation check
Success if the language mark appears in the upper right. OK if you select Japanese (Mozc)
You can leave the original Japanese as it is. If you delete it, the half-width key will not work.
