Announcement Original:

I translated it into Japanese, so please read this first:

That's why Ubuntu on Windows Community Preview comes out.
To summarize in 3 lines
is.
As an out-of-box experience, there is a setting screen at the first startup, but please note that the language choice changes depending on whether you use ** Windows Terminal ** (or other terminal emulator).
You can tell what it means by comparing the actual screens.
First of all, if you start from the shortcut that is normally added to the start screen, click here.
It says, "A legacy Windows console has been detected and you are in fallback mode." Choose from five languages: American, English, Spanish, Esperanto, and French.
On the other hand, if you ** ignore the shortcut added to the Start screen and use PowerShell or CMD.exe in Windows Terminal and launch wsl.exe or ubuntupreview.exe there **, click here.
If you select Japanese here, some of the subsequent setting screens will be translated into Japanese. (Honestly, I'm not so grateful.)
When the setting screen is over, you are logged in. It is displayed in various ways as "Message of the day".
As it was displayed at the end of the setting screen, please note that apt update
etc. may not connect well unless you restart once.
